Numbers don't match

GA4 and Wix numbers don't match: why and how to fix it

Wix makes basic GA4 setup easy and precise setup hard, which is why the numbers so often drift from your Wix dashboard. Here is what causes the gap and how to close it.

Why the numbers differ

Wix’s own analytics counts from its platform and sees nearly everything. GA4 counts from the browser, where a cookie banner, ad-blockers and iOS trim the total, so GA4 running a bit lower is expected. A large or growing gap, or missing sales, is where a real fault hides.

How to fix it cleanly

Pick one method for GA4, either Wix’s native field or GTM, not both. Make sure the purchase event fires on the Wix thank-you page with the order value and a transaction_id so GA4 can deduplicate. Confirm the tag is present across the whole site, and that consent is wired so declining is modelled rather than silently dropping the data.

What good looks like

GA4 should land within a few percent of your Wix figures and hold steady, with sales tracking reliably. Once that’s true, GA4’s attribution, which Wix can’t give you, becomes something you can actually trust for budget decisions.

GA4 vs Wix: common questions

Why doesn't GA4 match my Wix analytics?

Wix counts from its platform and sees almost everything; GA4 counts from the browser where consent, ad-blockers and iOS remove a slice. Some gap is normal, but a large one or missing sales usually means double counting or a broken purchase event.

Should I use Wix's GA4 field or Google Tag Manager?

One, not both. Running Wix’s native GA4 integration and a separate GTM install at the same time double counts. Pick one method and set the purchase event up through it.

Why isn't GA4 tracking my Wix Store sales?

Commonly the purchase event isn’t firing on the Wix thank-you page, or isn’t carrying the order value and transaction_id, or a cookie banner is blocking the tag. All are fixable.
